Somebody recently asked me: "What is a 'neocon?'" My response: "A formerly liberal, fair-weather-US-flag-waving Zionist - or one in thrall to Zionism."

That led to my definition of Zionist: "A Jewish supremacist, particularly one with an ironically Nazi-esque flair."

In fairness, the Zionist label wasn't entirely correct, since America's agenda now has come so closely to resemble that of Israel's - in effect, if not strictly aligned with the intent of the Chosen Ones, that is. You know, kill the Arabs...kill 'em all. Sort of like modern-day Canaanites.

The "promised land," for those who rely upon a somewhat shaky remembrance of biblical verse, was promised by God to the Israelite descendants of Abraham. The only problem was - and this fact generally receives little or no attention - the promised land, Canaan, was already occupied by...the Canaanites, of course. And there were lots of them.

And it wasn't just the Canaanites' land that God promised to the Chosen Ones, according to Moses, who speaks for God throughout the book of Deuteronomy, it was the very sweat of the brow of the Canaanites that the Chosen were being awarded:

"And it shall be, when the LORD thy God shall have brought thee into the land which he sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give thee great and goodly cities, which thou buildedst not, And houses full of all good things, which thou filledst not, and wells digged, which thou diggedst not, vineyards and olive trees, which thou plantedst not; when thou shalt have eaten and be full, Then beware lest thou forget the LORD, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage." (Deuteronomy 6:10-12)

And kill 'em, kill 'em all:

"But of the cities of these people, which the LORD thy God doth give thee for an inheritance, thou shalt save alive nothing that breatheth: But thou shalt utterly destroy them; namely, the Hittites, and the Amorites, the Canaanites, and the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites; as the LORD thy God hath commanded thee: That they teach you not to do after all their abominations, which they have done unto their gods; so should ye sin against the LORD your God." (Deuteronomy 20:16-18)

No sweat, said God. Just kill 'em, kill 'em all...every last one of them...down to and including the little babes in arms. Reading from the Old Testament is quite instructive. Check it out. In fact, while you're there you might as well read the whole thing, at last. The Old Testament's repetitive stuff can be glossed over without much loss (all that "begat" stuff, for example).

So they did. Every man, woman and child - down to the babes in arms. Killed them. Killed them all. Well, as many as they could lay their hands on, anyway. After all, "Hey - God told me to do it." Or, in the immortal words of the Blues Brothers, "We're on a mission from God."

And for bonus points, God told them to keep all the Canaanites' houses and crops and livestock as their due - it was all "promised," as well, since He had "chosen" them above all others to be His people.

"Wow," you might say, "these Canaanites must really have been bad guys to deserve this sort of treatment." My feeling in the face of this assumption is akin to standing before a jury while representing someone wrongly accused of a crime. They assume he's guilty, else we wouldn't even BE here, after all. Lots of innocents get convicted, believe it or not. Lots more innocents plead out to lesser charges to avoid the chance of heavy time. The system stacks the decks and loads up on charges, knowing the defendants will plead a deal, rather than risk a trial. This is particularly true when one can plead and get probation, thereby preserving the DA's record of convictions.

Near as I can tell from the Bible, the Canaanites were simply useless breathers, much as their Palestinian descendants today are viewed by so many in Israel and America, the new promised land. Once again, don't forget who wrote the Bible, or the "Torah," as the first five books, Genesis through Deuteronomy, are collectively known to the Chosen.

You see, Canaan was Noah's grandson. Canaan was cursed by Noah because Canaan's father, Ham, one day had the effrontery to tell Noah to put on some clothes. (Genesis 9) For this, Canaan was made to serve his two uncles, Shem and Japeth. These were the three sons who accompanied Noah on the ark during the flood, by the way.

Shem's great-great-great-great-great-great-grandson was Abraham, with whom God made a special covenant for some unmentioned reason (of course, he had made a special covenant with Noah, as well, which was supposed to have inured to the benefit of all of Noah's descendants), and to whom God gave the land of the Canaanites (Genesis 17:8).

Abraham had two sons, one with his wife and one with his maidservant (there's a good bit of this sleeping around in the Old Testament, by the way).

Abraham's legitimate son, Isaac, had twins, Esau and Jacob. Jacob was to cheat Esau of his birthright and father's blessing (Esau was delivered first, therefore was the "first born," you see), then flee for 20 years, only to return with his two wives and two maidservants, with all of whom he had 11 sons (told you about this adultery, remember), to have his name changed to "Israel" by God. Jacob/Israel's descendants were the ones eventually to come under and then leave Pharoah's bondage, wander in the desert and then plunder the promised land, the land occupied by the descendants of Canaan (Noah's grandson) as well as Ishmael, Isaac's half-brother, and Abraham's other son (with the maidservant, remember).

One presumes that the Israelis were the forebears of today's Jews, but there is no mention of that word in the Old Testament. One of Israel's sons was named Judah, though...he and his brothers sold Joseph into Egyptian slavery, you may recall. Then, many claim that most of today's Jews are actually something called 'Khazars,' because they are descended from the inhabitants of a Eurasian country that wholesale converted to Judaism because their king liked the Hebrews' written language.

Kind of like 'Days of Our Lives,' isn't it?

No matter how you feel about the Bible, whether you consider it the literal and divine word of God or not, one fact is indisputable: The Old Testament was written by Jews. Could it possibly be history rewritten with a certain...face-saving, shall we say?

Picture the hardened criminal in police custody: "Why did you do it? Why did you kill that entire family, including the baby?" "God told me to. God said I could keep their house, the ski condo, the Chevy and Rover, the family dog, as well." Right. And the murdered family members were all distant relatives, to boot, don't forget.

For Israel, today's actions against the Palestinians and other Arabs has become knee-jerk genocide, the very essence of Jihad. Canaan revisited. That's just what the rest of the world sees going on in the West Bank right now, but which the American media paints as rock-throwing Palestinians getting their just desserts.

For America, largely run by and for Zionists, a different motive is necessary, of course. And a different stated intent.

The Caspian Sea oil provides the motive. Only when negotiations with the Taliban for the cross-Afghanistan oil pipeline rights broke down did we decide that force would be necessary. They tell us that it was just coincidence that the 911 terror attack occurred when it did, because we were already preparing to forcibly replace the Afghani government with somebody that would play ball on the pipeline. Besides, the Taliban had stopped the production of most of the world's heroin source: Afghan opium poppies. That, too, is a whole 'nother story.

America's intent, per Bush the Second, is to wreak vengeance for this attack upon "freedom and democracy."

Before we started dropping those yellow food packets into the Afghan mine fields, thereby blowing up civilians for the price of freeze-dried eggs, we were already talking of taking out Sadaam, too. And the saber was rattling for Iran, as well.

But the effect is the same: kill 'em, kill 'em all. Kind of like a Zionist jihad, donchaknow. What a coincidence.

We have declared victory in Afghanistan, yet we still ship over men and materiel. There is talk about marching through every middle-eastern country and installing democracies similar to those in the West.

Lessee now, we were talking about neocons, weren't we? They are not the right wing, boys and girls, though many of them now vilify liberals and antiwar activists as though they were. The only thing right wing about the neocons is their fascism, and that's merely a modification of their previous incarnation as "the end justifies the means" communists.

Fascists and communists are both kind of the same thing, you know, they just disagree about who nominally owns things. Both demand absolute control of everyone and everything, the very gravamen of tyranny.

It's confusing because these neocons advocate building up the military and going over there to kill, kill, kill. Used to be, that was kind of a conservative mantra. Of course, then it was the communists that were supposed to be killed. If you used to be conservative and you've been dozing the past few years, or distracted by football games and the total value of your stock portfolio, you might notice that the players have kind of changed around. You might have a vaguely disquieting feeling about rooting along with them. Listen to that feeling, because it means everything.

For those familiar with the current flavor of talk radio, Michael Savage is the poster child for neoconservatism. Not coincidentally, Michael "Savage" is Jewish, though he adamantly refuses to identify himself as such, even when directly challenged. His real name is Michael Wiener. He rails endlessly against all things liberal, especially unchecked immigration to America, but he is the penultimate Zionist. Wiener/Savage carries on endlessly about how biased against Israel the American press is (believe it or not) and conjures up images of the new state religion, the Holocaust, on a daily basis. He calls everyone who disagrees with him or any Israeli action or American-cum-Israeli policy a "Nazi." About everything else, he is central casting's very picture of a right winger. And he is beating the drums of war very, very loudly.

Kill 'em, kill 'em all.

Want to know what a neocon is? Listen to Wiener/Savage. Listen closely. He is the best example I can think of as to why we are taking the path we have taken. But, in a very real sense, all the radio talk show hosts are neocons of a sort, because they wouldn't be allowed to continue to broadcast at all unless they were in line with the Zionist agenda.

After all, don't forget who it is that runs all of America's media. For that matter, don't forget who runs America. For proof, just look to the events of September 11. Why. Just ask yourself why.

Me? I'm thinking of becoming a neolib.
