Dear Editor:
I am just and ordinary Canadian with simple opinions. Yet I couldn't help express the confusion I feel over this whole affair. I suspect many Canadians feel the same way. This just makes me wonder where will this all lead to in 10 years time.
Thank you for reading. Suzanne

New contract! New Hockey Year! Don Cherry's seven-second delay is a goner for the year. The whole idea of rejecting Don Cherry's ability to put things into perspective as the ordinary fan, no holds barred, is absurd if anyone wants him to do Coach's Corner. What would be the point of having him on if he couldn't express himself in the unique way he does.
Of course, I am not supporting any form of verbal discrimination and bashing against anyone. We are a civilized country. Let's keep the talk about hockey, not what is going on in the rest of the world or politics. It's a hockey showdown, not a face-off in world events.
Cherry's in-the-locker bantering is exactly what hockey fans want. Most fans want to feel that they are playing on the ice with hockey players and most want to feel they are part of the discussions on the game as they happen. This is what real hockey fans would talk about if they were the players themselves.
Let Don Cherry be himself! This is hockey were watching after all.
