Dear Editor:
I am just and ordinary Canadian with simple opinions. Yet I couldn't help express the confusion I feel over this whole affair. I suspect many Canadians feel the same way. This just makes me wonder where will this all lead to in 10 years time.
Thank you for reading. Suzanne

Let me tell you, if it’s not one thing, it’s another.
Not only will people have to watch their kids from potential drug threats overseas, but also they will need to protect them from marijuana-addicted cows.
It never occurred to me that anyone would ever have to worry about drugs in cows.
According to the news overseas, authorities needed to clamp down on cow marijuana consumption. My mental picture is that of a bunch of cows smoking pot. In reality, it’s the feed. Apparently, if the feed includes a higher than recommended amount of cannabis, it will trickle into cow’s milk. (This makes sense when you realize human mothers must take care not to consume anything addictive during pregnancy and while they are breastfeeding).
One thing I would like to know is how come cows are being fed cannabis/hashish in the first place. It’s agreed that this addition to the feed can potentially harm humans through milk consumption, but there is no evidence of seeping through the meat. How in the world are people supposed to know if they are getting marijuana laced milk? You can’t do a breathalyser test on cows and I don’t even think that would work.
Somebody better be checking those addicted cows and soon. As a parent and concerned citizen, I really need to know I won’t have to worry about this one. Imagine a bunch of drug-infested cows on the loose. It’s too horrible to contemplate.
