Dear Editor:
I am just and ordinary Canadian with simple opinions. Yet I couldn't help express the confusion I feel over this whole affair. I suspect many Canadians feel the same way. This just makes me wonder where will this all lead to in 10 years time.
Thank you for reading. Suzanne

Maybe it's just me, but I really would like to tell the people responsible for gas price arranging to cut the bull. Your 94.9, 89.9, or 92.9 a litre just isn't working. We all know you mean .95 cents, .90 cents, or .93 cents a litre. This sort of price arranging has gone on for years and at one time it may have confused the buyer into thinking s/he was saving.
Why I can remember the times, we all jumped with joy at the big deal we were getting when we realized we were still one point short of the dollar value, 94.9 verses .95 cents. Yep, we really had a party with that big deal. Our savings accounts grew larger by the minute.
In fact, for many people buying gas at the high prices, using this supposedly mind-bending brainwashing feels insulting. What difference is a point going to make to the pocketbooks of most people who have to dish out the big bucks for gas? Perhaps there is a mistaken thinking that the hike won't feel so bad with the .9 at the end.
Believe me, it still hurts. No amount of dancing around the pricing issue is going to make people feel a lot better about having to dig deeper into their pockets. If you mean .95 cents, then put .95 cents. We all feel the pain no matter how you try to sugar coat gas prices.
