24th ANNUAL ART EDUCATION FACULTY EXHIBIT

January 19 to February 20, 2004
McPherson Library Gallery

The 24th Annual Art Education Faculty Exhibit, presented by the Maltwood Art
Museum and Gallery together with the University of Victoria Faculty of
Education, features recent artwork by UVic art educators.

Beyond lectures and theories, this exhibition steps out of the classroom into
the studios of art educators to look at the creative energy which fuels their
teaching. Featuring work by Robert Dalton, Walter Dexter, Don Bergland, Bill
Zuk, Helen Smith, Ron Smith, Kathy Collis, Roy Graham, and Stan Horner, the Art Education Faculty Exhibition explores the relationship of art education to the ideas and processes of the studio.

This collection of recent work incorporates the longstanding visual arts
traditions of drawing, painting, printmaking, and sculpture with digital media
and light displays. Poetry interpretations will also be included this year.
The diverse perspectives on the human experience offered in this exhibition
range from jarring to serene, from complex to moody.

The official opening will be held on Wednesday, January 21st at 3:30pm. The
McPherson Library Gallery is open during regular library hours.
